I co-direct the Center for Ethics, Society, and Computing (ESC) at the University of Michigan.

I use science fiction to encourage ethical and extrapolative thinking. I've been teaching Sci-Fi Prototyping to students from all disciplines since 2011. Want me to speak at your event?

I research wearable technology and haptic interfaces. 2INSPIRE is an interdisciplinary research project using wearable technology to understand the relationship between breathing and musical performance.

I work with researchers from other disciplines to uncover bias and asymmetrical power dynamics in algorithms and datasets. White Cube / Black Box is an interdsiciplinary research project where face detection algorithms were applied to UMMA's collection of artworks to investigate bias. The Utopia Swim Club is an artist collective researching black box algorithms.
